CAC has their standards right for DMPL’s! 8″ mirrors are the minimum. On this coin, they are deep, clear, have just a few teeny ticks, and offer powerful reflectivity. You don’t have to hold this coin arms length to see the depth and “blackness” of the mirrors. Miss Liberty and the details boldly stand out with full strikes and details that are covered by thick killer snow white frosting. Her cheek has rounded and has NOT been messed with. The eye appeal is spectacular! This date (81S) is far more scarcer than most people realize in Superb GEM DMPL. PCGS 69, NGC 98. PCGS has graded only 6 coins finer-and if you could find one it would cost OVER $7,500.00. We certainly haven’t seen many of these show up in the past year or so.
