Finding this coin was like finding the “holey grail” of coins. Anything true Cameo 1936-1942 is extremely rare. This piece has REAL full contrast!
PCGS has nearly impossible standards for these coins. However, this coin there is no doubt. The mirrors are deep, crystal clear, clean, and offer strong reflectivity. They look like a freshly made sheet of glass. The surfaces are silvery with a hint of pale gold. Miss Liberty and the details are thickly frosted and have full strikes. You don’t have to imagine the frost. The eye appeal is fabulous!
PCGS 4, NGC 20, CAC 3. The last auction appearance was 2012 when one sold for $4,025.00. We paid MORE then that for this lovely GEM! The current Collectors universe Value is $5,500.00. Good luck finding another PCGS PR Cameo!
